1944 - 1948: The bebop years
In September 1944, Davis studied at the Institute of Musical Arts, later known as the Juilliard School.
He became part of jam sessions at Minton's Playhouse and Monroe's, helping shape modern jazz.
1957 - 1963: Kind of Blue era
In 1959, Davis recorded Kind of Blue - one of the most influential jazz albums.
